The Royal has been providing guests to bath accommodation and splendid hospitality for over a century and a half. We are located within a 5 minute walk of the town centre. Close by are many of the popular attractions and we are near to the train station.
We are specialists in small breaks. With our very central location, friendly, warm and informal atmosphere, you not be disappointed with your choice in the city. Our Royal name was to commemorate a visit by Queen Victoria. Another famous name associated with the establishment is Isambard Kingdom Brunel who built it. This most famous of British architects was renown for also building many Bristol building and of course the Clifton Suspension Bridge. We are very close to the railways station which he had much involvement with as well.
We were originally named The Royal Station Hotel as because of at the time railways were the way to travel and we are close to the railway station in Bath. Having said this we are also very well soundproofed. Thus you need not worry about getting a good nights sleep. A footbridge was built to link up platforms on the station with the first floor of our establishment. The idea of this was to make Brunel's dream of travelling and staying as close close to the travel link as was possible, with as little inconvenience, a reality. This footbridge was taken down in 1936.
In the modern days we are now committed to making the hotel better for you with dedication to standards. Good food and well trained helpful staff are a small part of how we try to make your stay in Bath the best possible. A stay with us will be the perfect start to a historic trail that is what Bath is all about.
