Good stuff: Lovley setting and views from the hotel were excellent Bad stuff: Room had a musty/damp smell. Thought the bar area was totally out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Did not like the fact that you had to walk outside of the main building to your room and the bar facilities. Okay in the summary but would be a pain in the winter if raining. Good stuff: We were upgraded to a better room on arrival, the situation of the hotel is lovely, the food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Bad stuff: Many of the rooms are in a building detatched from the main house where the restaurant etc are. This meant going outside between room and restaurant/bar, As it was pouring with rain one night this was not so pleasant - but a very minor point. The hotel bar was not open at 10.30 on a Saturday night - which i found strange, however they did serve us a drink in the lounge. Overall: Very enjoyable and excellent value for money on this deal. Good stuff: The room size was fantastic. The view from the room was stunning. The girl in the beauty rooms was great. Reception staff were very good at greeting people each day. Hotel located in very good area for what I wanted to do. Bad stuff: TV was very small, not as advertised. The soft furnishings were not dirty, but stained. The bathroom was getting very 'tired'. The bar and restaurant were small and dark. The staff were friendly and some were good, but some were very inexperienced. The rooms were very stuffy, even with windows open and fans on - you need to work on some sort of air conditioning. Could do with a more open reception area. Literature about the hotel and surrounding areas in rooms was not very helpful. Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and loved the room, but I was disappointed with some of the standards. For the cost, I don't think it is really worth it - which is a shame as it is a fantastic situation, for Bath and for a huge number of 'sites'. I would stay again if the standards were improved. Good stuff: accommodation was very good with excellent views over the cotswold hills Bad stuff: this hotel is badly in need of a proper bar. the only bar available is part of the bistro and not very comfortable Overall: this hotel is lovely and the staff our excellent. the food in the bistro was very good indeed as was the service and very reasonably priced. the only downside is as previously mentioned is the lack of a decent bar. after dinner there is really nowhere to go for a quite drink Guests Name: Matthew was traveling as Young couple

Good stuff: Very nice views, hotel was lovely although a little drab in places but overall excellent. Bad stuff: Needs a seperate bar area from the Eden. The steps up to the indoor pool should be changed to a slope. Overall: There is only the one place to eat in the hotel unless you are staying over a friday and saturday when the dining rooom of the house becomes a dining area. Good stuff: All of it! Lovely grounds, room, breakfast etc.. Bad stuff: Not much. If being really picky: (i) the view from the bedroom was beautiful but a bit compromised by the safety/security features; (ii) it wasn't very clear what you were supposed to do when entering the breakfast hall. There was a big group waiting for a big table, but no-one for a couple of minutes to find a smaller table for the two of us. Overall: Lovely hotel in which to spend our first wedding anniversary. Would definitely comeback. Easy to find and close to Bath. The online booking was very good. Guests Name: Alan was traveling as Mature couple
